Do your nerves get in the way when you have to do an exam or a test?

Firstly, I can't promise that you will pass your exams or driving test if you have done no preparation whatsoever!

However, have you noticed that there are some brilliant students who do really well all year and then freeze and don't do as well as anticipated in exams? Likewise there are some students who don't do that well all year, but who seem to have the knack of doing well at exams. In a similar vein you may have the confident driver in lessons who falls apart everytime they take a test. So what's the trick? What makes a difference?

The difference is that our minds filter information about the exam or test itself differently. Some of us feel enormous amounts of pressure and / or anxiety and are overtaken by our nerves, our mind perceives a threatening situation and reacts accordingly. Rather than helping to create an optimum state for passing exams or tests, this fight or flight type response causes the body to become tense and our thought processes are confused.

People who do well in exams and tests seem to be able to access an internal state which helps them achieve what they are capable of. Their internal strategies, unconscious beliefs and values are congruent with doing well.

One or two sessions of hypnotherapy can increase your chances of success by:
